Support Work
What is a Support Worker?
A Support Worker is someone who provides practical, hands-on assistance to help people with disability, illness or age-related needs live their lives as independently and comfortably as possible. Support Workers work alongside you — not for you — empowering you to do the things you love, stay connected to your community, and manage day-to-day life with confidence.
Support can be funded through the NDIS, NIISQ, or privately, and can be tailored to suit your individual goals, routines and preferences.
How Can a Support Worker Help You?
At Riverways Of Wellbeing, support is genuinely shaped around you. No two people are the same, and neither are their needs. Support services can include:
- Personal Care — Assistance with showering, grooming, dressing, toileting and other personal routines, always delivered with dignity and respect.
- Community Access — Getting out and about to community events, social groups, appointments, recreational activities or simply enjoying a coffee out with someone by your side.
- Household Tasks — Help with cleaning, tidying, laundry, meal preparation and keeping your home feeling comfortable and manageable.
- Manual Transfers and Mobility Support — Safe and respectful assistance with transfers, mobility aids and moving around your home or in the community.
- Shopping and Errands — Accompanying you to the shops, picking up groceries, collecting scripts or taking care of everyday errands together.
- Skill Building and Independence — Support to learn new skills, build confidence, manage your own schedule, work towards personal goals and celebrate every step forward.
- Organising and Planning — Help with appointments, paperwork, budgeting, planning your week and staying on top of the day-to-day.
- Companionship — Sometimes what matters most is simply having someone warm and genuine to share your time with — someone who listens, engages and genuinely cares.
Why Choose Riverways Of Wellbeing?
Not all Support Workers are the same — and at Riverways Of Wellbeing, the difference is something you will feel from day one.
Paige Jones is not only an experienced Support Worker, but also a qualified, Accredited Social Worker registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). This means you are not just receiving hands-on practical support — you are receiving care that is informed by over 12 years of clinical expertise in disability, mental health, behaviour support, alcohol and drug use, housing, life transitions and family dynamics.
What does that mean for you in practice?
- Deeper Understanding — Paige understands the emotional, psychological and social factors that shape your wellbeing, not just the practical ones. She can recognise challenges early, adapt her approach and respond with insight and empathy.
- Holistic, Person-Centred Support — Every support is tailored to your whole self — your goals, your strengths, your circumstances and your family unit.
- Seamless Allied Health and Support Work — For clients who also access Social Work Therapy through ROW, Paige’s dual role means your therapeutic goals and practical daily support are genuinely aligned.
- Trustworthy, Consistent Care — You will always know who is coming through your door. Paige is personally invested in the people she supports, bringing warmth, professionalism and genuine dedication to every visit.
- Extensive Experience Across Complex Needs — With a background spanning disability, aged care, mental health, drug and alcohol counselling and child and family support, Paige brings a breadth of knowledge that is rare in a Support Worker.
When you choose Riverways Of Wellbeing, you are choosing someone who sees the whole picture and truly cares about your quality of life.
